Since arriving in Buenos Aires on the morning of Thursday, January 24, we have spent our time wandering the neighborhoods in the northern part of the city. One could imagine being in an Italian city -- similar architecture and urban geometry. Wide avenues separate neighborhoods with incredible trees and sidewalk landscaping. As expected, the sidewalks are busy late into the night and sidewalk dining is everywhere.

We have ventured into a couple of familar tourism hotspots, the Plaza de Mayo (uninteresting by comparison to the barrios)...

....and the Recoleta Cemetery (with amazing architectural fantasies)

Take great notes in Brazil, I know Ed is interested in going back to where his parents lived and where he was born...someday! How are the language classes going? -Mary

P.S. Buenos Aires looks like a beautiful city, do the songs from Evita keep running through you head as you walk the streets? -M
